On Site Workshop with Jenna Rounds... Felting with Rabbits May 29, 2021

The bunnies are a built-in part of summer programs.... Summer in the Learning Garden June - August 2021

Sign up your family to hang out with our family of English Angora Rabbits on the farm in the Learning Garden!  If you have been curious about these intellegent, friendly fuzzballs, but missed our Wintertime Rabbit Ambouncadors Program, here's your chance to get up-close and personal with the bunnies and spend some time on the farm together in the outdoors!

Participants will meet in the learning garden in family groups (parents/care-givers and children expected to attend together). From a safe social distance (face coverings required) we will interact with the rabbits, learn to groom, train and care for these special wool-producing animals in playful ways through games and activities. Experience the many ways we use their fiber to make felt, spin yarn, and create functional and decorative projects from the wool we humanely harvest with the guidance of our Learning Garden Educators.

*Opportunities to foster a rabbit are available for interested families who successfully complete this course together.

*Sessions will take place outdoors and on the ground with the rabbits.  Please bring your own blanket and water bottles for your family.

*Face Coverings Required at all times during program hours.

We reserve space for you to take a walk and remove your mask from a safe distance for youth who are adjusting to this safety precaution.

FOR YOUR AWARENESS:

* All new participants and a parent are required to participate in a safety orientation before the program begins, to be scheduled after you have registered. (can be in person or remote)

** Participants must complete a health screening before each session and may require a temperature check before each session.

*** Due to safety precautions, we will not prepare food on-site or eat together during our program hours as we have in the past. Please eat before you arrive on-site, and do not bring food with you to the farm.  Water bottles or warm liquids are okay and we will provide safe spaces to remove your face mask for water breaks. When produce can be harvested, youth will bring items home for snacking and cooking with their family.

More information about our COVID-19 Safety Protocols and preparing your family for this program will be delivered upon registration. Our Learning Garden and Organization - wide COVIDE-19 Safety Guidelines can be found on our website.
